CG  -   Peace, peace, we come in peace, we don't want to harm you.

KK  -   What do you come here for, what do you want?

CG  -   We come from far away, we come to visit this new and strange land.

KK  -   Why you visit?

CG  -   We want to explore and see your land. We want to know what it is like.

KK  -   Why - you like our land?

CG  -   It is good, it is unusual, we haven't seen anything like it before. It would be appropriate for us to use.

KK  -   Why do you want to use our land?

CG  -   Our land hasn't got much room for people who break the law.

KK  -   Why do you need room, we punish people who not follow our laws, we kill if they break sacred laws. No problem with keeping people.

CG  -   We kill people too, but many break little laws so they only need to be punished.

KK  -   How much land do you want to use?

CG  -   Just this little bit here would be fine for now.

KK  -   How long do you want to use land?

CG  -   Just until our people get better.

KK  -   Bad people no good, they break the law

CG  -   We make them better, it takes time to make them good.

KK  -   You use medicine?

CG  -   No, we teach them how to live, how to grow food and to work.

KK  -   Why you grow food?

CG  -   We need food like this to live. (He shows him a tin of flour)

KK  -   Why do you spend all that time making special food when there is food everywhere? Why do you put it in those boxes to store it, instead of just gathering it when you need it? It is much better fresh. When you put it in that box it go old and bad. Why all this work for food when you can simply eat all around you?

CG  -   We don't move to where the food becomes available. We make a house and don't move.

KK  -   Why you make a house out of the land, why not live with the land.

CG  -   We use the land to help us to make what we need to live.

KK  -   Why you make when you can be a part of the land. We know the land and the spirit of the land is a part of us.

CG  -   We are not a part of the land, the land is separate from people, how can you know the land? We own the land with a piece of paper like this, and then we can do what we want with the land.

KK  -   A piece of paper doesn't prove that a piece of land is your land. You need to know and understand your land, to live closely with your land. The land needs to be a part of you and your spirit needs to be linked to the land. If something happens to the land you feel what the land feels. To live without the land is to live all on your own. If the land is something separate from you, the land is not your land regardless of a piece of paper that says you are its owner. We don't own the land, we live with the land, the land and us are one. We respect each other, we don't rule over the land. We care for it with our lives, our hearts and our spirits - this land is our life. How can you call a piece of land your land when you have no part in it?
